Ms. Carol Montes, RP (Qualifying)
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I completed medical training and psychiatry-focused education in Venezuela, where I worked in public and private mental health settings from 2002 to 2014. In Canada, I now exclusively practice as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario. This education does not grant medical licensure in Canada, and I do not practice medicine in Ontario.
I work with adults who are experiencing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, workplace stress, and interpersonal relationship issues. I work from an inclusive and culturally responsive framework, with respect for clients from diverse backgrounds.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I integrate Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, adapting my work to each client’s unique needs and goals. When appropriate, I may also incorporate mindfulness, stress management, emotional regulation, and practical problem-solving strategies.
My aim is to create a supportive and reflective space where clients can explore their experiences, increase self-awareness, and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges. Confidentiality and respect are central professional values in my practice.
