Ms. Nadine Rancier

Accepting clients July 2024
Social Worker

With over 20 years of experience as a Registered Social Worker, working across many provinces and oversea in both languages, I specialized in trauma treatment and Insomnia with serving members.

I began my professional career upon completion of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Laval University, Quebec, in 2003. My first professional experience took place in a rehabilitation center for physical disabilities within a multidisciplinary team, where I provided counselling to adult patients in need of prolonged recovery following car accidents, strokes, head injuries, and other disabilities. I completed a Master`s degree in Social Work at Laval University in 2007, during which time I joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Social Work Officer and provided psychotherapy to a diverse clientele ranging from mild to severe psychosocial and mental health conditions, across all the services.

Throughout my military career, I have developed advanced skills in different approaches and primarily use the following treatment modalities: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have also developed expertise in treating sleep problems and insomnia with the CBT model for insomnia, which is the first line of treatment for insomnia. I use CBT-i in group treatment as well as in individual session. I also offer trauma treatment to adult clients using EMDR and ART. I have experience treating post-traumatic stress disorder, childhood trauma, sexual trauma, and other forms of trauma.

My clinical approach, which I offered in both official languages, is to adapt to your need first. My style is collaborative and I view psychotherapy as teamwork. You are the expert in your life and I bring professional vision and tools to help you on your journey of change, at your own pace.

Practicing clinical social work is my passion, which is why I decided to work a few hours a week in my spare time to maintain my competencies and help adults outside of the CAF who are struggling with mental health issues.
