I take a cognitive-behavioural and self-compassionate approach to therapy, while also employing aspects of self-acceptance and mindfulness. I can help guide you toward understanding unhelpful thought patterns, sitting with difficult feelings, and finding new ways of engaging with everyday life. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, light environment for my clients, often using therapeutic strategies while searching for the humour in our struggles
I hold an MA in Counselling Psychology with thesis research into self-compassion for those with social anxiety disorder. I have previous counselling experience at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, working with students with a wide variety of concerns. I have also spent time at Hospice Care Ottawa with individuals experiencing grief and loss.
