Fees

At the Centre for Change we believe in making access to mental health services as affordable as possible and therefore offer a range of services at varying rates. We offer training opportunities for psychology and counselling students as well as mental health professionals wishing to advance their cognitive-behavioral therapy skills. Therefore, some services are available at reduced rates. There are no additional taxes or charges. Payment is due at the time of the session and clients are welcome to pay via credit card, cheque or cash. We do not at this time have the capacity for debit cards.

Additional Services and Fees: Should you require additional time and services outside your scheduled appointment (e.g. letters, completion of forms, progress or assessment reports, extended consultation with other professionals or family members, and off-site meetings) these services will be billed per 15-minute increments based on the hourly fee of your clinician.

Many individuals have extended health-care coverage through their work that will pay all or a portion of the costs of seeing a registered psychologist. We provide receipts which can be used for this purpose.

The following are some of the plans that we work regularly with:

  • Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP, formerly GSMIP)
  • Blue Cross
  • Department of National Defense
  • Veterans Affairs Canada
  • Manulife
  • Sunlife
  • Greatwest Life

Late Cancellations & No-shows

Your appointment time is reserved for you and this means we are unable to see anyone else during your appointment time. A $75.00 late cancellation will be applied if you cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice or fail to keep your appointment. If you are ill or there is poor weather this policy does not apply.

Outstanding FeesIf accounts remain unpaid after a written notice, the practice business manager will redirect it to a collection agency after notification has been provided to you. Your name, home address, dates of psychological services, and amount owing will be released to the collections agency. Once this process is engaged, we are not able to take fees directly from you to avoid involvement of the collection agency.
