Mrs. Erin Bougie
My approach to therapy is integrative based on my training in a variety of treatment modalities, including emotion-focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy. I also consider the impact of early family and social relationships and their influence on present issues. I appreciate that the client is the expert of his or her own felt experience. I utilize a collaborative approach in order to set therapeutic goals that address specific needs. I always strive to build a safe and trusting working relationship in an understanding, accepting, comforting, and respectful environment.
I received my Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Applied Psychology and Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Honours) with specialization in Psychology from Laurentian University. I am registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in both clinical and school psychology. I have been providing psychological services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of clinical settings, including a community mental health clinic, school board, and private practice. In these roles, I conducted psycho-educational and psychodiagnostic assessments, provided individual and group therapy, facilitated workshops and presentations, and consulted with other professionals.
